One Rule Can Weave a 3D Spherical Star

BEHIND THE WORK

A single continuous line weaves a 3D spherical star.

Following a Clelia spherical spiral defined by x(t) = R cos(2.5t) cos(t), y(t) = R cos(2.5t) sin(t), and z(t) = R sin(2.5t), latitude and longitude lock into a perfect 5:2 resonance. As the luminous point journeys across the sphere, five symmetrical petals emerge, weaving a breathtaking 3D star cage directly on the spherical surface.

Artismathic turns equations into visual art—one function at a time.

THE MATHEMATICAL RULE

x(t)=Rcos(2.5t)cos(t)x(t) = R cos(2.5t) cos(t)y(t)=Rcos(2.5t)sin(t)y(t) = R cos(2.5t) sin(t)z(t)=Rsin(2.5t)z(t) = R sin(2.5t)
