Can One Line Fold Into a Dragon?

BEHIND THE WORK

Can one line fold into a dragon?

Starting from FX, the rules X → X + YF + and Y → −FX − Y are applied 12 times. F moves the point one step, while + and − turn it exactly 90 degrees. The resulting 4,096 connected segments form the Heighway dragon without lifting the point.

Artismathic turns equations into visual art—one function at a time.
