16,807 Steps Grow a Fractal Continent
BEHIND THE WORK
Can two replacement rules turn one segment into a fractal continent?
This is a fifth-order Gosper curve, also called the flowsnake. Every A and B segment becomes seven smaller segments, with 60-degree turns controlling their direction. After five rounds, one continuous line contains 16,807 steps and forms a dense coastline-like field. The construction is shown in stages in the video.
Artismathic turns equations into visual art—one function at a time.
